What It’s All About

Architecture that inspires in the soul

There is an invisible connection between the colorful pavilions of Sant Pau Hospital and the stone forest of the Sagrada Família. This private tour takes you inside two extraordinary UNESCO World Heritage masterpieces. As an art historian specializing in Catalan Modernism, I’ll guide you beyond the monumental facades to decode the hidden symbols and stories of an incredible era when architecture was built to elevate human spirit.

ITINERARY

The tour

Atto I

⟡ The Healing City: Hospital de Sant Pau

We’ll start at the Sant Pau Art Nouveau Site, where architect Lluís Domènech i Montaner completely reinvented the concept of a hospital: a true garden-city designed to heal patients through beauty. We’ll dive into a world of colorful mosaics, detailed ceramics, wrought iron, and symbolic sculptures, experiencing Modernism at its most ethical, human, and uplifting level.

Atto II

⟡ The Walk to the Sagrada Família

Walking along Avinguda Gaudí, we’ll head toward the Sagrada Família—a masterpiece you can only truly understand by looking beyond simple aesthetic appearance.

Atto III

⟡ An Open-Air Bible

Sharing the same Christian faith and religious values that inspired Antoni Gaudí, I love guiding guests beyond simple building techniques to unlock the true spiritual meaning behind every stone. Designed as an “open-air Bible,” the basilica reflects its creator’s deep spirituality: we’ll walk under the mystical light of its stained-glass windows, discovering the sacred space just as Gaudí envisioned it, where every column and ray of sunlight creates a quiet dialogue with the divine.

The great open book that we must try to read is Nature; other books were derived from it.
